Hiking
The Vercors is an ideal place for hiking, offering a stunning landscape and a huge network of marked tracks, in fact over 2,230 km !This network is very diversified and is suitable to children, adults, beginners or experts. Thanks to detailed maps and guides, hikers can choose itineraries matching their level of fitness and their desires. On top of numerous beautiful hikes in a preserved mountain area, the Vercors also offers several themed routes such as history and architecture.

Les Grandes Traversées du Vercors - The Vercors' crossing
|
The Vercors range can be crossed by foot, horse back or mountain-bike, entirely or partly. It is also possible to walk around the Vercors range.
The Tour of the Vercors on foot
It takes on average 21 days to cover the 350 km surrounding the Vercors. The landscape and atmosphere really vary from one part to another part of the tour. If 21 days in one go is too much for you, it is possible to do smaller parts of the tour in a few days, like le tour des Coulmes, le tour des 4 Montagnes et le tour du Mont Aiguille.
La Traversée - the crossing
This 60 km long itinerary crosses France's biggest Natural Reserve. It takes between 3 and 5 days to complete this mythic hike, going from Villard de Lans or Corrençon en Vercors high plateaus to Chatillon en Diois.
The Tour of the Vercors by mountain bike or horses
230 km of tracks are adapted for mountain bikers and horse riders. It takes between 5 and 7 days to complete this tour. There also plenty of short easy day walks, here are a few examples :

Les Crêtes de la Molière
|
This walk starts from La Molière car park, 10km above Autrans village. A markerd track leaves the car park in direction of the peaks, then goes down to the Pas de Tracollet before going up to the Charande, the highest point in Autrans' area at 1,709m. One can enjoy a 180 degree view over the Alps, with the Chartreuse, the Oisans and the Belledonne massifs in one's eyes. Europe's highest mountain, Mont-Blanc, can be seen on a very clear day. The walk carries on to the Pas de l'Ours then via a wide meadow and pass by the Robertière refuge, taking hikers through cows herds. This easy itinerary offers a magical panorama on the Alps and the Vercors Nord.

Bec de l'Aigle - Gorges du Bruyant
|
From Lans en Vercors' main square go down the village passing by La Maison du Parc before turning right in direction of Les Falcons. From this little hamlet, a track crosses the plain going north to la Grange Verte (Cote 1027). On the left a track goes trough trees, passing by a stone hut from the year 1,000. Hikers will arrive at le Bec de L'Aigle, a narrow platform above the Furon gorges with a breathtaking view over the Vercors Nord. It is possible to then go down the Bruyant gorges, a very pleasant itinerary in the summer as it is always cool thanks to its waterfalls.

Pas de Pertuson
|
This walk starts on the front of Meaudre's Tourist Office, on the road in direction of Pas de Pertuson, passing by the swimming pool, until la Truite. After Davière the tracks carries on through the forest where it gets steeper. The yellow and green signs must be followed until the Bergerie, before taking a left until la Combe de L'Ange where it becomes a tarmac road. At the "Baraque des Feuilles" crossroad, there is a track on the left that must be followed until the tarmac road that goes back to the village.
